Every class can equip Edge, as long as it's not created in an Amazon-only bow.
The Edge bow must be equipped to work (not just in inventory) but you'll see the price reduction immediately. You may not think this is important, but this reduction in vendor price extends to repair prices and Gambling as well. So why should someone playing a melee or caster class be interested in making an Edge? It's because it's one of only two items in the game that reduces vendor item prices when equipped- and you can get it as low as level 25.
